Adult learners in Sullivan County can attend SUNY Sullivan tuition-free this fall through the new SUNY Reconnect Scholarship, which covers tuition, fees, books and supplies.
The scholarship, part of the New York State Opportunity Scholarship Program, is available to eligible individuals aged 25-55 without a prior college degree who are pursuing degrees in high-demand fields.
“Governor Hochul’s SUNY Reconnect removes the financial barriers that can prevent adults from taking advantage of higher education and all that it offers,” said SUNY Sullivan President Dr. David Potash in a statement. “SUNY Sullivan is ready and eager to support adult students to gain education and jobs through this outstanding program.”
Eligible degree programs at SUNY Sullivan for the fall 2025 semester include alcoholism and drug abuse counseling, computer programming, computer information systems, construction technology, green building technology, liberal arts and sciences: childhood education (pathway to teaching), medical assistant, nursing, and respiratory care.
The programs align with industries experiencing significant growth in New York State, offering strong career prospects for graduates, according to the college.
SUNY Sullivan offers dedicated advising and support services for student success.
“SUNY Reconnect is a game changer, opening doors and opportunities,” said Potash.
The summer will feature information sessions to assist interested individuals with the application process. More details are available at sunysullivan.edu/freeCC.
