On September 30, 2025, at approximately 7:46 a.m., State Police from the Ellenville barracks responded to a two-vehicle crash on State Route 209 in the town of Wawarsing.
The initial investigation determined that a 2021 Hyundai traveling northbound crossed the center line and struck a 2004 Gulf Stream Conquest motorhome head-on. The Hyundai then caught fire.
The driver of the Hyundai, identified as Elsa M. Booth, 36, of Ellenville, NY, was extricated from the vehicle and given emergency medical aid at the scene. Despite life-saving efforts, Booth was pronounced deceased.
The operator of the motorhome, Diane R. Delehanty, 68, of Livingston, Texas, was also extricated and transported to Garnet Health Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
