As a cold snap grips the Catskills, Roscoe Mountain Club is embracing winter this Saturday with Winterfest, a full afternoon of ice skating, snowshoeing, live music, and craft beer. Hosted in partnership with Roscoe Beer Company, the festival runs from noon to 5 p.m., with an after-party on the ice rink until 8 p.m.
“Winterfest is kind of like our love letter to the Catskills,” said Tiffany Conklin of Roscoe Mountain Club. “It’s about leaning into the season instead of hiding from it. Adults and kids can just relax and have some good outdoor fun.”
Visitors can enjoy ice carving, horse-drawn carriage rides, sledding, bonfires with free s’mores, and a snowman-building contest. “The ice skating rink and live music is the most lively and festive part of the day,” Conklin said. “Snowshoeing and carriage rides offer a quieter way to enjoy the landscape.”
Live music kicks off at 12:30 p.m. with Far Beyond Gone at Wolf Lodge, followed by BJ Hendrickson at the barn at 1 p.m. The festival also features local artisans, pop-ups, indoor crafts for kids, and dog-friendly areas.
“This is the 12th annual festival from Roscoe Beer Company,” Conklin added. “It’s a great way to support local artists, connect with the community, and introduce people to what the Catskills have to offer—even in the cold.”
Attendees are encouraged to carpool if possible, as snow may make parking limited, but plowed lots and on-site guides will help direct traffic. Side-by-side shuttles are also available to move guests between key areas.

That sounds like a perfect antidote to the cold snap! I love the idea of an after-party right on the ice rink until 8 p.m. It makes me wonder, what kind of local musicians are usually featured at these Roscoe events? Always great to see community events embracing the season.
